In September 2023, we worked in partnership with law firm Clifford Chance to get a clearer picture of what influential actors think about responsible AI development.
We spoke to focus groups of policy-informed individuals in Germany, the UK and the US to explore their perspectives on AI issues such as bias, consent, copyright, transparency and content moderation.
We found that people’s attitudes towards AI are developed, nuanced and remain optimistic about the potential of AI, but there is much more work to do to demonstrate that the right tools are available to realise the full potential of AI responsibly and safely.
This report dives into those findings, in order to anticipate the pressures on policymakers and demands from stakeholders that will shape the legal and policy framework for AI development going forwards.
